Run by Ms Perry, the Eco-Committee consists of 18 children ie two children representing each class from Year 1 to Year 6. They meet every week on Wednesdays between 12.30 to 1.00 to discuss and carry out plans for the school. In 2000, Rough Hay was awarded Eco-Schools status. Click on the links to the left and below to find out how that was achieved.
This year, the Eco-Committee is entering a competition launched by REEP (Religious Education and Environment Programme). They have to submit a design for the quadrangle which reflects "an awareness of faith tradition in their design" and "the practice of stewardship in their function and design". They have until April 2005 to enter their ideas, and winning entries will be awarded at least £500 towards making their ideas come to fruition.

Collect 4 Schools
Got a computer? Then you're more than likely to have a printer. If you do, instead of throwing away your printer cartridges when it's time to replace them, why not donate them to Collect4Schools. for recycling, care of Rough Hay? Do your bit to protect the environment, and it's an ideal way to get your children involved with saving our planet.
Help!
Gardening is a time-consuming job, and there's only so much the children can do. If you have a few hours and can spare either your expertise and/or labour, your contribution would be very much appreciated. The more people who can help, the sooner we can turn our quadrangle into an area that can be enjoyed by everyone. Contact the school to leave your details.
