On Wednesday the choir visited the NIA in Birmingham to sing in a concert called Young Voices.Everyone had a fantastic time, especially when Lee Ryan from Blue appeared...the girls couldn't stop screaming!
"A puppy is helping to teach children responsibility and cheer up lessons at a Black Country primary school."
This is Betty, our school dog.Isn't she adorable? The children are queuing up to fuss her and play with her. We've also had a couple of accidents too!
Betty is very much in demand at the moment...putting the 'ruff' into Rough Hay.She has appeared on 'Midlands Today' learning her times tables and is due to appear on BBC 'Newsround' helping Year 6 children write. She has also appeared in the 'Daily Mail' newspaper and on 'Beacon Radio' and 'Radio WM'...talk about being hounded by the paparazzi!
On Friday the children from Reception to Years 3/4 took part in an Indian Culture day.Several children dressed up in saris, others enjoyed tasting pakora, bajis and indian sweets.Pupils from Years 3 and 4 painted mendhi patterns on their hands using henna and made fantastic mendhi collages using beans and pulses. The piece de resistance was the BBC Bollywood style dancing display that took place in the hall in the afternoon - well done everyone!
We were bored,so we decided to write this poem:
"Hey dad,my teacher is over there
you know the one with the curly hair."
"I can't see her, come on lets shop."
"You know, the one with the orange top"
"She has brown eyes and orange hair."
"You would fall in love in one deep stare."
"Oh no theres my head walking towards me"
"come on lets hide it dosen't seem right to see my head shopping at night.
They care for us and stop the chatter.
They realy care and that does matter.

Jade class showed us in their fantastic family assembly some disablilties that people ovecome in their lives. They reminded us that even though we may look different on the outside we are all the same on the inside and really: the only disability in life is a bad attitude.
Aren't their costumes great?
Today in assembly we talked about Buddhism www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/<WBR>Homework/religion/buddhism. and had a go at meditating.
Some children found this easy and others found it difficult but it is sometimes nice to be quiet and still when we live in such a busy, nosiy world.
Buddhists usually focus on something beautiful like a flower.
We also talked about Songkran-The Thai Water Festival www.sriwittayapaknam.ac.th/songkran.html and used water to pretend to wash away bad luck.
Today I took two children to Waterstone's bookshop to spend £10 each on books of their choice, courtesy of Walsall Rotary club,(thank-you Mr Speed). The children were selected because of the effort they have made to improve this term.Well done to you both...I'm proud of you!
What do you do if you you have a bad toe and your shoe is rubbing it? Wear your slippers of course! (Nice socks too!)
